Perrott’s Folly Tower set to be restored

Perrott’s Folly Tower, which is thought to have inspired JRR Tolkein to write “The Two Towers” - the second book from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, is set to be restored and opened up to the public for the first time in more than 20 years.
Trident Reach the People Charity manages the historic landmark and needs to raise £1million to help restore it to its former glory.
Benjamin Bradley, responsible for Perrott’s Folly at Trident Reach the People Charity, said: “Perrott’s Folly is an awe-inspiring structure which towers over the nearby suburbs.
“Such an impressive landmark should be brought back into use for the community to safeguard its future and to allow the public – including Lord of the Rings fans – to enjoy it for many years to come.”
